You book online and choose “Your Home, Office, etc.” as the location. A registered nurse arrives at the address with everything needed, takes you through the medical screening, places the line and stays for the whole drip, which takes about 45 minutes for most of our drips. Same-day bookings are possible, subject to availability.
The call-out fee is R400 minimum, or R150 per person for groups, and it covers the first 15km. One person having The Kick-Start (R1,350) pays R1,750 in total. A group of four shares a call-out of R600, and each person pays for their own drip.
We come to homes, offices and hotels across Cape Town, from the Atlantic Seaboard to Durbanville, Table View and Somerset West, across Johannesburg from our Sunninghill base, and in Stellenbosch and the Winelands. If your address is further than 15km out, WhatsApp 061 509 6038 and ask before you book.
A comfortable chair where you can sit back for the length of your drip, and good light so the nurse can see clearly while placing the line. The nurse brings the saline, vitamins and equipment. If you are on chronic medication, have the names handy for your screening.
Any drip carries some risk, such as bruising or infection where the needle goes in. Cleveland Clinic advises people with heart disease, high blood pressure or kidney disease, and pregnant women, to talk to their healthcare provider first, and to ask whether a licensed medical director oversees the drips. Ours are given by registered nurses under the protocols of Dr Chris van Zyl, after a medical screening questionnaire.
