The Open Airways is an arginine drip and is not a treatment for asthma or any other lung condition. Anyone with asthma must keep using the medicines prescribed by their own doctor and tell us about their condition first. The drip takes about 90 minutes and is given by a registered nurse after a medical screening questionnaire.
Researchers are studying the role of arginine and nitric oxide in the airways, but evidence for IV arginine is limited.

An amino acid that serves as a precursor to nitric oxide (NO), a molecule that helps blood vessels relax and widen. The body also uses arginine to make proteins and to clear ammonia. Most people get enough arginine from food, as the body can also make it itself.
