A weight loss drip is a vitamin and amino acid IV drip that people choose alongside a doctor-led weight plan; it does not cause weight loss on its own. Our weight loss drip in South Africa is The Baywatch, which costs R1,200 and takes about 45 minutes. You can have it at our walk-in lounges in Sunninghill (Johannesburg), Stellenbosch and Queenstown, or book a mobile drip so a registered nurse comes to you in Cape Town or Johannesburg. Every drip comes with a choice of a 200ml or 1000ml saline bag at no extra cost.
What is in it. The Baywatch contains Lipostat Plus (methionine, inositol, choline and vitamin B12), arginine, glutamine, L-carnitine and a B complex. These nutrients have normal jobs in the body: carnitine carries long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria so they can be used for energy, and choline is needed to make phosphatidylcholine, which the liver uses to package and export fat. Vitamin B12 helps the body produce energy from fats and proteins and form red blood cells. Arginine and glutamine are amino acids. Having a normal role in fat metabolism does not mean extra amounts burn extra fat.
Who chooses it. The Baywatch is chosen by people who are already working on a structured plan with a doctor, eating differently and moving more, and who like a vitamin and amino acid top-up along the way. If you want medical support, our Weight Loss Programme at R11,200 combines 8 x The Baywatch with a doctor consultation, and any prescription treatment is only given if the doctor finds it suitable for you. Read more about our doctor-led medical weight loss. To be honest about the evidence: there is no good evidence that IV vitamins or amino acids reduce body weight by themselves.
How to book, in 3 simple steps
Book online. Choose your drip, a walk-in lounge (Sunninghill, Stellenbosch or Queenstown) or a mobile drip at your home, office or hotel, and a time at book.mobivive.co.za.
Medical screening. You complete a short medical questionnaire before your drip, so anything that needs extra care is picked up first.
Relax while a registered nurse gives your drip. Most drips take about 45 minutes; NAD+ is given slowly over 90 to 120 minutes.
Is the weight loss drip right for me? You start with a medical screening questionnaire, reviewed by a registered nurse under the protocols of our medical director, Dr Chris van Zyl. If you have a heart, kidney or liver condition, diabetes or another chronic illness, are pregnant, or take chronic medication, tell us first. The Weight Loss Programme always starts with a doctor consultation. On the day, the nurse places a small cannula in your arm and the drip runs for about 45 minutes, at a lounge or in your own home.

A weight loss drip is an IV infusion of vitamins and amino acids that people choose while following a weight plan. At mobivIVe it is called The Baywatch. It is a nutritional top-up, not a fat-burning treatment, and it works best as one small part of a doctor-led plan with food and activity changes.
The Baywatch contains Lipostat Plus (methionine, inositol, choline and vitamin B12), arginine, glutamine, L-carnitine and a B complex in saline. You choose a 200ml or 1000ml bag at no extra cost. We do not publish doses: the recipe follows the protocols of our medical director, Dr Chris van Zyl.
The Baywatch costs R1,200 per drip and takes about 45 minutes. The Weight Loss Programme costs R11,200 and includes 8 Baywatch drips plus a doctor consultation. A mobile drip adds a call-out fee of R400 minimum, or R150 per person for groups, within the first 15km.
A registered nurse gives every drip after a medical screening questionnaire. Tell us first if you are pregnant, take chronic medication, or have a heart, kidney or liver condition. Remember that the drip supplies nutrients only: for real weight change, speak to our doctor about a full plan through the Weight Loss Programme.
Go to book.mobivive.co.za/book and choose our Sunninghill, Stellenbosch or Queenstown lounge, or select “Your Home, Office, etc.” for a mobile drip in Cape Town or Johannesburg. For the Weight Loss Programme and its doctor consultation, WhatsApp or call 061 509 6038 and we will set it up.
