Doctor-Led Skin Glow Drip

Glow Drip
in South Africa

A glow drip is an IV infusion of glutathione, vitamin C and other antioxidants, chosen by people who want a beauty and hydration top-up. Our glow drip in South Africa is The Light Switch (Super Skin Glow IV Therapy). It costs R1,350 and takes about 45 minutes. You can walk into our treatment lounges in Sunninghill (Johannesburg), Stellenbosch and Queenstown, or book a mobile drip and a registered nurse comes to your home, office or hotel anywhere we cover in Cape Town and Johannesburg. You choose a 200ml or 1000ml saline bag at no extra cost, and extra vitamins can be added on the day.

What is in it. The Light Switch combines high-dose glutathione, high-dose vitamin C, N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and a B complex. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and an essential cofactor in the body’s own collagen production, and the Linus Pauling Institute notes that IV vitamin C can reach 30 to 70 times higher blood levels than the same vitamin taken by mouth. Glutathione is one of the cell’s main antioxidants, and NAC’s main job in the body is to supply the cysteine needed to make glutathione. The B vitamins help the body turn food into energy. Doses stay private: the recipe follows our medical director’s protocols.

Who chooses it. The glow drip is popular before weddings, matric dances, photo shoots and the festive season, and with clients who like a regular antioxidant and hydration session as part of their self-care routine. Sleep, sunscreen and water still do most of the work for your skin, and the drip sits alongside them. We want to be clear about the evidence: a 2018 review in Dermatology Practical and Conceptual found little convincing evidence that glutathione lightens skin, and the evidence for IV glutathione is minimal. We do not offer it as a skin-lightening treatment, and how you feel afterwards varies from person to person.

How to book, in 3 simple steps

  1. Book online. Choose your drip, a walk-in lounge (Sunninghill, Stellenbosch or Queenstown) or a mobile drip at your home, office or hotel, and a time at book.mobivive.co.za.
  2. Medical screening. You complete a short medical questionnaire before your drip, so anything that needs extra care is picked up first.
  3. Relax while a registered nurse gives your drip. Most drips take about 45 minutes; NAD+ is given slowly over 90 to 120 minutes.

Is the glow drip right for me? Before every drip you complete a medical screening questionnaire, which a registered nurse reviews under the protocols of our medical director, Dr Chris van Zyl. Tell us first if you have a heart, kidney or liver condition, are pregnant, or take chronic medication, so the nurse can confirm the drip suits you. The nurse places a small cannula in a vein in your arm and the drip runs for about 45 minutes while you sit back, read or work on your phone. Allow about an hour in total, including screening.

Frequently asked questions

A glow drip is an intravenous infusion of antioxidants and vitamins, mainly glutathione and vitamin C, given through a small cannula by a registered nurse. At mobivIVe it is called The Light Switch. Clients choose it as a beauty and hydration top-up before events or as part of a self-care routine, not as a medical skin treatment.

The Light Switch contains high-dose glutathione, high-dose vitamin C, N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and a B complex in a saline bag. You choose a 200ml or 1000ml bag at no extra cost. We do not publish doses, because the recipe is set under the protocols of our medical director, Dr Chris van Zyl.

The Light Switch costs R1,350 and the drip itself takes about 45 minutes, so allow roughly an hour with screening. A 1000ml bag with dextrose is R200 extra. For a mobile drip there is a call-out fee of R400 minimum, or R150 per person for groups, within the first 15km.

A registered nurse gives every glutathione drip after you complete a medical screening questionnaire. If you are pregnant, have a heart, kidney or liver condition, or take chronic medication, tell us before you book so the nurse can check it is suitable. Some people notice a small bruise where the cannula went in.

Book online at book.mobivive.co.za/book and choose a lounge: Sunninghill in Johannesburg, Stellenbosch or Queenstown. For a mobile glow drip choose “Your Home, Office, etc.” and a nurse comes to you in Cape Town or Johannesburg. Questions? WhatsApp or call 061 509 6038.
